Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON (Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015) - The Houston Dynamo will conclude the 2015 season at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday as they face Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place on MLS Decision Day. Tomorrow's game will be broadcast live on ROOT SPORTS Southwest (channel guide) and can be heard on Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 AM and in Spanish on La Ranchera 850 AM and 101.7 FM.

For the first time in league history, all games in each conference will kick off simultaneously to prevent competitive advantages and increase drama as the MLS Supporters' Shield and final playoff places are decided on the last day of the season. Vancouver can finish between second and sixth in the Western Conference, depending on Sunday's result. Meanwhile, the New York Red Bulls and FC Dallas (57 points) have identical records entering the final day of the season and one of the two will win the Supporters' Shield.

For the Dynamo, eliminated from playoff contention, pride and final impressions are still in play. Moreover, several club awards could be finalized on Sunday. Will Bruin (11 goals) has a healthy lead over Ricardo Clark (8 goals) and Giles Barnes (7 goals) to win his second career Dynamo Golden Boot. With two goals on Sunday, Bruin can equal Brian Ching's club record of 13 regular-season goals. Brad Davis (2,596 minutes) can hold off David Horst (2,513 minutes) for the Ironman of the Year award.

Vancouver is looking to claim a No. 2 seed for the playoffs and host their first MLS Cup Playoff game. The Whitecaps have set a club MLS record with 15 wins this season and regularly features one of the youngest lineups in MLS, with Kekuta Manneh (20), Russel Teibert (22), Matias Laba (23), Nicolas Mezquida (23), Cristian Techera (23), Octavio Rivero (23) and Gershon Koffie (24) all age 24 and younger.

Vancouver has dealt with numerous injuries of late and played on the road at Olimpia of Honduras on Thursday in the CONCACAF Champions League. Whitecaps FC feature three Designated Players: Laba, Rivero and Chilean midfielder Pedro Morales.
