Bras Around the Building Collection During Thursday's Rivalry Game
October 21, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - During the Petes game on Thursday, October 22 against the Oshawa Generals, staff and volunteers representing Country 105, Energy 99.7, and the Canadian Cancer Society will be collecting bras for the annual Bras Around the Building campaign.
Fans are encouraged to bring bras in support of the campaign to Thursday night's rivalry matchup, which starts at 7:05pm (doors open at 6pm). For every new or gently used bra donated during the campaign, OLG will donate $1 to support breast cancer research. Campaign volunteers will be set up in the North Lobby at the PMC on Thursday.
On Friday, October 23, the Energy 99.7/Country 105 building on George Street will be draped with bras. The goal this season is to raise $7,000 during the campaign.
Tickets are still available for Thursday's game, which will be the first time the 2015 Memorial Cup champion Oshawa Generals visit the PMC this season. Aside from seeing the Petes continue to compete for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, fans will enjoy the Energy 99.7 blindfolded shootout during the second intermission, and the national anthem will be performed by Brittany Hall, 3rd place finisher in Peterborough's 2012 Search for a Star Competition.
