Moncton Wildcats News Release

The Cats held a dominant lead over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles for all three periods in Friday night action to come out on top with a 7-4 win. The Wildcats scored the first three goals of the game; courtesy of Kevin Klima, Stephen Johnson and Zack MacEwen. Cape Breton managed to score one in the second; but Moncton responded by adding another three goals to the board, this time coming from Liam Murphy, Manuel Wiederer and Kelly Klima. Wiederer would go on to add one more goal for his second of night. Cape Breton managed to add a few more goals late in the game, but it would not be enough to close the gap on the Wildcats.

Three starts for this game went to Kevin Klima (first), Manuel Wiederer (second) and Zack MacEwen (third), while hardest worker of the game went to Ethan Crossman.

Fortin was solid in nets again tonight, turning away 22 shots.

The Cats will be back in action on Sunday for their final Pink in the Rink game when they take on the Halifax Mooseheads at 3:00 p.m.

Make sure to get your tickets now! You could have the chance to shoot to win a car courtesy of Rallye Motors; and don't forget the pink game worn jerseys will be up for bids at our silent auction table until the end of the second period.
