Austin Bruins News Release
AUSTIN, MN - The Bruins welcome the Central Division leading Minot Minotauros to Riverside Arena this weekend in a rematch of the 2015 Division Championship. After being swept in the 2014-15 regular season by the 'Tauros - including 3 shootout losses, the Bruins won the Central Division Final series, three games to two, winning a decisive game five, 4-3 at Riverside Arena.
Minot is off to a hot start, winning their last six, and notching points in 8 of their 9 total games played. They are coming off a home sweep of the Brookings Blizzard. The Bruins, currently four points behind the Minotauros, were swept in a home-and-home with the Minnesota Wilderness this past weekend. They showed good resiliency on Saturday night in Cloquet, erasing a 3-1 deficit to tie the game in the third period, but a late Wilderness powerplay goal made the difference.
Faceoff is 7:05 on both Friday and Saturday night at Riverside Arena - gates will open at 6:00 PM both nights. The Mower County Humane Society and the Cooperative Response Center are sponsoring Friday night's game. The Humane Society will be accepting donations in the form of cleaning and pet supplies at the game.
