Gorgen Named to Post Season All-Star Team

Camden, NJ, Oct 13, 2015 - The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball today announced its 2014 End-of-Season All-Star team featuring the Player, Pitcher and Manager of the Year honors, including Sharks closer Matt Gorgen.

Gorgen went 2-1 with a league leading 33 saves and an earned run average of 2.31. In 46 2/3 innings, he struck out 51 while walking only 20.

"Matt came to the field ready to pitch every day", said manager Chris Widger. "I want to thank him for his hard work and dedication to the team this season" .

Other selections to the team included Sugar Land catcher Chris Wallace, York Revolution first baseman Andres Perez, second baseman Delwyn Young of Sugar Land and Cody Puckett of Long Island, third baseman Bryan Piunds of York, shortstop Dan Lyons of Long Island, outfielders Brian Cavazos-Galvez of Lancaster, Welington Dotel of Bridgeport and Aharon Eggleston of Somerset, designated hitter Sean Burroughs of Long Island, starting RHP John Brownell of Long Island, and reliever Buddy Boshers of Somerset.

Somerset Patriots manager Brett Jodie was named Manager of the Year who led his team to 89 regular season wins and the 2015 Atlantic League Championship.
