- William Nylander opened the scoring for the Marlies on the power play, recording his first point of the season after scoring 32 points in 37 games last season. Nylander's performance earned him the game's third star.

- Richard Panik assisted on the first two Marlies goals. Panik last skated in the AHL in 2013-14 where he recorded 11 points in 13 games with Syracuse.

- Andrew Campbell scored in his first game as captain of the Marlies.

- Josh Leivo recorded a goal and an assist; he was named the game's first star.
