HWS Baseball VP & Scrappers GM Taylor Wins NYPL's Robert Julian Community and Baseball Service Award

NILES, OH - The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are proud to announce that HWS Baseball Vice President and Scrappers General Manager Jordan Taylor is the recipient of the New York-Penn League's Robert Julian Community and Baseball Service Award for the 2015 season. This award is given annually to the individual that has made outstanding service contributions to their community and to baseball.

"I am honored to be this year's recipient of the Robert Julian Community and Baseball Service Award." Taylor states. "I take great pride in the work our organization does annually that has a positive effect on the community."

Taylor serves as the President of Trumbull 100, the top economic development organization inthe community. In addition, Jordan is the President of the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau, serves on the Board of Directors of the Niles Kiwanis Club and is involved with the Fund for Our Economic Future.

Throughout the Scrappers season, countless events and programs have taken place at Eastwood Field, giving back to community organizations such as Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley, Ernie Hall Aviation Museum, American Heart Association, The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, National MS Society, Second Harvest Food Bank, Tickets For Kids and many more.

The Scrappers, Class A Affiliate of the Cleveland Indians play a 76 game schedule in the New York-Penn League, including 38 home games at Eastwood Field.
