Western New York Flash News Release

ELMA, N.Y. (Thursday, October 8, 2015) - The Western New York Flash has announced that three players will head out on loan for the 2015-16 National Women's Soccer League offseason. Jasmyne Spencer and Michelle Heyman will play in Australia's W-League, while Ashley Nick will feature in the Cypriot First Division.

Spencer, 25, will return to Sydney FC for her second-consecutive campaign and will be looking to build on a stellar rookie season in the W-League. In 2014-15, Spencer led the Sky Blues with eight goals in 13 contests and was named the club's Player of the Year.

Spencer recently completed her second stint with the Flash, totaling three goals and one assist in her 20 appearances.

Heyman, an Australia native, returns to Canberra United to help the club defend its W-League title after beating top-seeded Perth Glory in last year's Grand Final. Heyman has played with Canberra since the 2010-11 season, also winning the league championship in 2011-12.

The 27-year-old forward was signed by the Flash after the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, adding a goal and an assist in her nine appearances for the Flash.

Spencer and Heyman become the second and third Flash players to head to Australia this offseason, joining defender Abby Dahlkemper who will play for Adelaide United.

Nick, 27, returns to the Apollon Ladies for another season in Cyprus. Last season, Nick and Apollon advanced to the Champions League but were ultimately eliminated in the Round of 32 by Brøndby IF.

The midfielder was acquired by the Flash via trade with Houston on May 11, seeing time in 13 matches with one assist.

All three players will return to the Flash prior to the start of the 2016 NWSL season.
