Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack look to continue their hot start to the season when they kick off their first three-in-three this weekend with a trip to Guelph.
With puck drop set for 7:30pm on Friday night, the Attack and Storm will battle for the 2nd time this year after the teams met in Owen Sound's home opener on Saturday, Sept. 26. The previous meeting between the Attack and the Storm on the year saw the home side walk away with a 1-0 overtime victory, continuing the trend from last season of one-goal games between the sides.
Owen Sound enters Friday's action having earned a point in each of their first four games and remains unbeaten in regulation with their only loss in 2015-16 coming in a shootout to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. On the other hand, the Storm have yet to record a victory on the season, standing at 0-3-0-1 on the year, earning their only point in the game against the Attack.
Leading Owen Sound into the weekend is forward Josh Sterk, who has recorded five points in three games. Jaden Lindo and Nick Suzuki are also producing at a point per game clip, while eight other Attack players have scored at least two points on the year. Netminder Michael McNiven is also enjoying a solid start to the season, posting a 2.13 goals against average and a .932 save percentage through his four starts on the year.
Friday's meeting will be the first of two divisional match ups in as many nights for the Attack, as Owen Sound will return to the Bayshore to take on the London Knights for the first time this season on Saturday, Oct. 10.
London, who is 2-0-1-1 on the year and sits right behind the Attack in the Midwest Division with 6 points, will take on the Sudbury Wolves on Friday night at Budweiser Gardens before making the trip to the Scenic City for Saturday's 7:30pm puck drop. Saturday evenings action is brought to you by Classic Rock, 94.5.
The Attack will then wrap up the weekend when they host the Ottawa 67's in the season's first Investment Planning Counsel Sunday. Ottawa will also be wrapping up a weekend that sees them play three games in three days, with stops in Oshawa and Barrie before taking on Owen Sound.
Sunday's game, which is a 2:00pm puck drop, will feature a free bag of popcorn for the first 200 children through the doors, jersey giveaways, and a skate with the team following the contest all brought to you by Investment Planning Counsel in Owen Sound.
Tickets for both of Owen Sound's home games this weekend can be purchased at the DJ's Furniture Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com, or by calling 519-371-7452.
The weekend preview is presented to you by Joe Tomato's, located next to the Galaxy Cinemas on the Sunset Strip. Bring your tickets to Joe Tomato's after every Attack home game for half off wings and appetizers!
