Saskatoon Blades News Release
SASKATOON, SK - In the words of Elsa the Ice Queen, "the cold never bothered me anyway!" Well the cold definitely didn't bother the Blades on this night.
Twelve different players recorded points on this night as the Blades explosive offense continued.
Cameron Hebig who continues to be an offensive force for the Blades now has eleven points in just five game recorded two goals on this night. "He's worked hard, he's done the work in the summer and he's got a little chip on his shoulders getting looked over in the draft and he's got something to prove and guy's like that are dangerous," adds Bob Woods on Cameron Hebig's performance five games into the season.
"Mentally I just wanted to be more positive and making the most of my opportunities and just being more confident," says Cameron Hebig on his mindset so far this season.
Josh Uhrich also recorded two goals including one on the power play.
The second unit of Soshnin, Sloboshan and McCarty tallied for six points in a much need win.
Aside from the offensive tear by the boys in blue, the Blades penalty kill and defensive play were some of the other highlights of the night. Bob Woods praised the effort of his team not taking their foot off the gas being up 3-1. "It could be a difference if they end up scoring a goal and all of a sudden it's a tight game, they're believing there still in it but when we got that fourth goal that takes them out of it a bit. Sometimes those games are tough to play but I thought there were a lot of good efforts by everybody and I liked that we stayed structured and didn't get away from our game."
The team has just one day of practice before taking on Jake DeBrusk and the Swift Current Broncos Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at SaskTel Centre.
