AquaSox Announce 2016 Schedule

EVERETT, Wash. - The Northwest League released its 2016 schedule with the Everett AquaSox beginning the league's 62nd season on the road. The season marks the 32nd year that Everett has fielded a team in the NWL.
The AquaSox will open the 2016 season on the road at the Tri-City Dust Devils in Pasco, WA on Friday, June 17th. After three games against the Dust Devils, the AquaSox will then travel to Vancouver for three games. The AquaSox will then host their first 2016 home game in Everett on Thursday, June 23rd against the Boise Hawks. The homestand will last five games before the team goes on the road for six days, and will return home again just in time to host the Eugene Emeralds for an Independence Day celebration on July 4th!
"We expect another fun and exciting season of AquaSox baseball in Everett," said AquaSox General Manager Danny Tetzlaff, "After last year's playoff appearance we are anticipating another strong season for the club."
In the fourth season of the North-South Divisional alignment, the AquaSox will play two five-game series (one home, one road) against each team in the NWL South (Boise, Eugene, Hillsboro, and Salem-Keizer). The AquaSox will play four three-game series (two home, two road) against each North Division rival (Spokane, Tri-City, and Vancouver).
The AquaSox schedule will include 5 home games in the month of June, 14 home games in July, 16 home games in August, and 3 home games in September. The first half of the season will end on Monday, July 25, with the regular season winding down on Labor Day, Monday, September 5th. All eight teams in the Northwest League will have a three-day All-Star Break, August 1-3 when the 2016 NWL All-Stars will play the Pioneer League All-Stars on Tuesday, August 2nd at Lindquist Field in Ogden, Utah (home of the Ogden Raptors).
