IceHogs Assign DeSousa, Add Cumiskey

Rockford, Ill.- The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs announced today that they have assigned forward Chris DeSousa to the Indy Fuel (ECHL). Additionally, the IceHogs have signed defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to a professional tryout (PTO).

DeSousa, 25, appeared in each of the IceHogs preseason contests. In 2014-15, he posted 16 points (7g-9a) and 40 penalty minutes for the Indy Fuel. Prior to arriving to Indy, he led the University of Prince Edward Island in goals (15) and points (26).

Cumiskey, 28, played in 54 games for Rockford in the 2014-15 season, accumulating 20 points (2g-18a) en route to being named as the team's Best Defenseman. He appeared in seven regular season games for the Blackhawks, and nine more during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, helping Chicago to their third Stanley Cup in six seasons.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 17 vs. Texas Stars. Game Time: 7 p.m. The first 5,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs calendar courtesy of Mulligan's Pub and Grill.
