DeSousa Returns to Indy

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs announced Wednesday that rookie forward Chris DeSousa has been assigned to the Fuel from Rockford.
DeSousa, 25, appeared in 20 games for the Fuel at the end of the 2014-15 season, picking up 16 points (7g, 9a) while logging 40 penalty minutes. The undrafted center from Mississauga, Ontario spent time at both Chicago and Rockford's training camps in 2015, appearing in one preseason game with the Blackhawks and a pair with the IceHogs. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound DeSousa came to Indy last season on the heels of an successful four-year CIS career at the University of Prince Edward Island, where he racked up 113 points (54g, 59a) in 104 games played.
The Fuel's preseason roster currently stands at 20 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders. Indy takes the ice for their first preseason game Wednesday night against the Fort Wayne Komets at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
In 2015-16, the Indy Fuel drop the puck on their second season in the ECHL.
