Cyclones Receive Two from Lake Erie

CINCINNATI, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones have received forward Peter Quenneville and goaltender Brad Thiessen from the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the seventh round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Quenneville is coming off of a stellar season with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he amassed 75 points (27g, 48a) in 72 games played.

He captained the Wheat Kings to a first place finish in the WHL Eastern Conference, and a berth in the WHL Final where they fell to the Kelowna Rockets.

Thiessen spent last season with the AHL's Adirondack Flames where he posted a 10-16-7 record along with a 3.11 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage. He has spent the majority of his professional career in the Pittsburgh Penguins system, suiting up for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Wheeling Nailers.

In 2011-12, Thiessen appeared in five games for Pittsburgh, posting a 3-1-0 record with a 2.45 GAA and a .858 SV% in those contests.

The Cyclones open up the preseason on Wednesday, October 7, at U.S. Bank arena against the Wheeling Nailers. Gametime is slated for 7:30 p.m.
