Minnesota Assigns Defenseman Mike Reilly to Iowa; Wild Places Jordan Schroeder on Waivers

DES MOINES, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Tuesday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has made the following transactions:

- Forward *Justin Fontaine* has been placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, retroactive to Sept. 24.

- Defenseman *Mike Reilly* has been assigned to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

- Forward *Jordan Schroeder* has been placed on waivers.

- Forward *Grayson Downing *designated as an injured non-roster player.

Schroeder, 25 (9/29/90), was among the Iowa scoring leaders in 2014-15 with 28 points (10-18=28) in 35 games. The 5-foot-9, 176-pound native of Prior Lake, Minn., also appeared in 25 games with Minnesota, recording three goals and eight points. He's totaled 23 points (9-14=23) in 81 career NHL games, skating in parts of three seasons between Minnesota Vancouver Canucks (2012-14). Schroeder was originally selected by Vancouver in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Reilly turns pro after an outstanding collegiate campaign with the Minnesota Gophers. The 22-year old (7/13/93), collected 42 points (6-36=42) in 39 games during his junior season at the University of Minnesota. The 6-foot-1, 182-pound blueliner was named a Hobey Baker Memorial Award Finalist and led NCAA defensemen in scoring and assists. He also led the NCAA with 19 power-play assists and ranked T-3rd in the nation with 21 power-play points (2-19=21) and T-8th with a plus-25 rating. Reilly led the Gophers in scoring, assists and plus-minus rating.

The Chicago native, who grew up in Chanhassen, Minn.,was named a First Team All-American and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year following his sophomore and junior seasons. Reilly helped the U.S. Men's National Team win a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championship recording one assist in 10 games. He recorded 33 points (9-24=33) in 41 games in 2013-14 and totaled 89 points (18-71=89) and 76 penalty minutes (PIM) in 117 games in three seasons with the Gophers. Reilly also won a gold medal at the 2013 World Junior Championship and bronze medal at the 2011 World Junior A Hockey Challenge.

Iowa hosts Opening Night on Saturday, October 10th when the Charlotte Checkers come to town. The puck drops at 7 p.m. The Wild hosts a pregame tailgate party outside of Wells Fargo Arena from 4-6:30 p.m., celebrating the team's third season in Des Moines. The first 5,000 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild Cling Schedule, presented by Hicklin Garage, KXNO 1460, and The Bus 100.3. The Wild also hosts Charlotte again on Sunday at 5 p.m. Sunday's game is Kid's Opening Night and the first 2,500 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild poster schedule.

Fans may purchase single-game tickets multiple ways, either through the team's website - www.Iowawild.com , the Wells Fargo Arena box office or participating Hy-Vee food stores. Tickets are available online at www.Iowawild.com under the single game tickets tab. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area. The Iowa Wild 2015-16 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team's 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2015-16 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
