Moncton Wildcats News Release
MONCTON - Wildcats defenceman Garrett Johnston has been traded to the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in exchange for a fourth round draft pick in the 2016 QMJHL entry draft. Johnston joined the team in 2013 and played two full seasons with the Wildcats; along with eight games to start off the 2015-2016 season. Director of Hockey Operations, Roger Shannon had this to say about Garrett and his time with the Cats. "We would like to thank Garrett for his time here in Moncton, he had a great two seasons with the team and as a free agent we could not have asked for anything more. He will be ready to go, and will be a top defenceman in Chicoutimi, we wish him all the best in career!"
Jacob Sweeney has returned from New Jersey Devils training camp and rejoined the team here in Moncton. This will mark Sweeney's fifth season with the team; last year posting 46 points on the year. "Jacob had a great pro camp in New Jersey but wants to finish off his junior career. He has a great foundation, and wants to see where things go after his final year here in Moncton" said Director of Hockey Operations, Roger Shannon. Jacob's first game back will be on the road against Baie-Comeau on Friday, as the team kicks off a three game Quebec road trip.
