Tomahawks Close out Weekend with 4-3 Victory over Titans

MIDDLETOWN, N.J.- After falling in overtime on Friday night, the Johnstown Tomahawks rebounded with a 4-3 victory over the first place New Jersey Titans Saturday night at Middletown Ice World. The Tomahawks now sit one point behind the Titans for first place in the East Division.
New Jersey (6-2-0) opened the scoring early in the first period, as Anthony Cusanelli scored his seventh goal of the season at 3:27. Jesse Farabee and Adam Hascic added the assists on the goal.
Johnstown (5-2-1) got on the board later in the first period, as Tommy Horn scored his second goal of the season at 16:30.
Andrew Romano gave the Tomahawks their second goal of the game at 18:13 of the first period. Romano has scored four points (one goal, three assists) in his last five games.
Horn extended the Tomahawks lead, scoring his second goal of the game 5:13 into the second period. Kelly O'Brien and Steven Quagliata each added assists on the goal. Horn has now scored a point in his last five games (three goals, four assists).
Keegan Miller pulled New Jersey back within one, scoring an unassisted goal 15:36 into the second period.
Drew Doyon made it a 4-2 game, scoring his second goal of the season 8:18 into the third period.
New Jersey set the final score, as Raymond Brice scored with 3:48 remaining in regulation. Miller added the assist on the goal.
Nick DeSimone earned the win, stopping 19 of 22 shots. Jack Berry suffered the loss, allowing four goals on 18 shots. The Tomahawks and Titans each went 0-for-3 on the power play.
Johnstown opens its 2015-16 home schedule Oct. 16 and 17 against New Jersey, with a special appearance by Hockey Hall of Famer and National Hockey League legend Bobby Hull scheduled for the Oct. 16 game.
