Everblades Receive Three Players from AHL Charlotte

ESTERO, FL -- Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Saturday that goaltenders Daniel Altshuller and Anthony Peters, as well as defenseman Matt Willows have all been assigned to the team from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Peters, 24, joined the Everblades last spring and posted a 2-0 record with a 0.96 goals against average, and a .966 save percentage. Peters recorded a 33-save shutout in his professional debut on March 7 at Greenville. In addition, Peters appeared in seven games with the AHL's Rochester Americans last season. Peters signed an AHL contract with Charlotte this summer. Peters complied a 52-27-0 record with a 2.58 goals against average and a .911 save percentage during his four-year collegiate career with Saint Mary's University (AUS/CIS) from 2011-2015
Altshuller, 21, returns to Southwest Florida where he posted an 8-3-1 record, a 3.21 goals against average and a 0.881 save percentage in 14 appearances with the 'Blades last season. Altshuller also made six playoff appearances last spring which included a stellar 30-save shutout performance in a series-clinching Game 6 of the division semifinals against the Orlando Solar Bears on April 28. The Nepean, Ontario native is a third-round draft selection of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Willows, 24, joins the Everblades after recording 35 points (19g,16a) in 40 games played during his senior season at the University of New Hampshire. The 5-9, 185 blueliner also logged five points (3g, 2a) in 11 appearances with the Worcester Sharks (AHL) last spring. The Congers, New York native totaled a balanced 90 points (45g, 45a) during this four-year collegiate career at New Hampshire.

Opening Weekend Presented by The Passion Foundation Set for Oct. 16 & 17!
The Everblades open the 2015-16 season at Germain Arena on Friday, October 16 against the Atlanta Gladiators! The two teams will also meet on Saturday, October 17.
The opening weekend games will be part of a "Black Out" promotion and the Everblades will be wearing special black jerseys which will be auctioned off following the October 17 game. The proceeds of the auction will benefit The Passion Foundation.
