SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced today that defenseman Jeff Rayman has been released. His next assignment is yet to be determined.
A 19-year-old from Fernie, B.C., Rayman played 86 games over two seasons with the Chiefs, scoring one goal and adding seven assists. He was originally listed by Spokane in October of 2011.
After the move, the Chiefs are now carrying 25 players on their roster, including three goaltenders, eight defensemen and 14 forwards.
The Chiefs hit the road this weekend for the first of six consecutive games away from Spokane Arena. They play the Kootenay Ice in Cranbrook, B.C. at 6 p.m. PDT on Friday, Oct. 2, followed by a visit with the Tri-City Americans in Kennewick at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will be available on SportsRadio 1510 KGA Spokane starting with the pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the game.
The Chiefs' next home game is Cenex Zip Trip Magnet Schedule Giveaway Night on Friday, Oct. 16 against the Prince Albert Raiders. The annual Leinenkugel's HOCKtoberfest game will follow on Oct. 17.
