October 1, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves announced Thursday they received centers Jeremy Welsh and Ivan Barbashev and defensemen Peter Harrold and Andre Benoit on loan. The additions come nine days before the Wolves open their 22nd year at Allstate Arena.

Welsh spent the 2014-15 season with the Wolves and ranked third on the team with 20 goals and fourth with 41 points in 75 regular-season games. The 27-year-old veteran added 1 goal and 1 assist during the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Barbashev, who turns 20 on Dec. 14, will make his professional debut with the Wolves. The Moscow, Russia, native produced 45 goals and 50 assists in 57 games last season for the Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL). He joined the Wolves during the postseason last year, but did not see action.

Harrold has played most of his nine professional seasons in the National Hockey League. The 32-year-old blueliner contributed 8 goals and 18 assists in 164 games for the Los Angeles Kings (2006-11) and 5 goals with 11 assists in 110 games for the New Jersey Devils (2011-15).

Benoit spent the 2014-15 season with the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and contributed 1 goal and 8 assists in 59 games. The 31-year-old has accrued 11 goals and 37 assists in 179 NHL games. During the 2010-11 season, Benoit notched 11 goals and 44 assists while helping to guide the Binghamton Senators to the Calder Cup championship.

The Wolves open the American Hockey League's regular season on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. against Milwaukee. The franchise celebrates the start of its 22nd season with a free tailgate party in Allstate Arena's West Lot from 2 to 6 p.m. To learn how to get the best deals on group outings and season-ticket packages, visit ChicagoWolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
