Raiders Name Tim Vanstone Team Captain

Prince Albert, SK - The Prince Albert Raiders are proud to announce that forward Tim Vanstone has been named the 40th team captain in franchise history.
The announcement was made after practice on Wednesday. The club also named Reid Gardiner, Jesse Lees, and Dalton Yorke as alternate captains for the 2015-16 season.
"This is a very important position within our organization and we are fortunate to have a ton of leadership in our locker room," said Raiders head coach Marc Habscheid. "Tim has all the qualities we look for in a captain and he has the support of our players and our coaching staff."
Now in his fourth season with the Raiders, Vanstone set career-highs in 2014-15 with 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points. In 161 career Western Hockey League games, Vanstone has compiled 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points. The Swift Current, SK native was selected by Prince Albert with the 52nd pick in the third round of the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

The Prince Albert Raiders play a pair of games at home this weekend in what is being dubbed the Giant Tiger Weekend. On Friday, October 2, the Vancouver GIANTS will visit the Art Hauser Centre, followed by the Medicine Hat TIGERS on Saturday, October 3.
