ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Tuesday that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Matt Stanisz for the 2015-16 season.

Stanisz, 25, joins the Everblades after posting 17 points (2g, 15a) in 21 games played during his senior campaign at Carleton University (OUAA) last season. The 6-1, 205-pond blueliner totaled 74 points (10g, 64a) during his four-year collegiate career with the Ravens. Stanisz played one season with former Everblades forward Brandon MacLean at Carleton in 2011-12.

"We are excited for the opportunity to bring in Matt from Carleton University," said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss. "Matt has been the top defenseman at Carleton the past couple of seasons, and we expect him to continue his solid play and production here in his professional career."

Prior to college, Stanisz registered 43 points (12g, 31a) in 61 games played with the Owen Sound Attack (OHL) during the 2010-11 season. The Boston, Massachusetts native also played four seasons with the OHL's Barrie Colts posting 45 points from 2006-2010.
