Saginaw Spirit News Release
SAGINAW, MICH - On Tuesday, the National Hockey League released its Preliminary Central Scouting list for the 2015-16 season.
The list, that features 53 Ontario Hockey League players to watch for this season's NHL Draft, also highlights Spirit goaltender Evan Cormier, forward Tye Felhaber, defenseman Keaton Middleton, and defenseman Markus Niemelainen.
The Midterm Central Scouting list will be released after the World Junior Championships in early January and the final NHL Central Scouting List will be released in early April.
"As an organization we are very proud and happy to see that Tye, Markus, Evan and Keaton have been recognized by NHL central scouting as players to watch this season." said Spirit General Manager David Drinkill. "Anytime you see your players get closer to their dream of getting drafted to the NHL it's an exciting time for everyone. These guys know and understand it is just the first ranking and they must continue to work hard throughout the year in order to achieve their goals. Their game play from this point on will help dictate what happens in June and that's a long way away. The Saginaw organization is heading in the right direction and these four players are a big part of it going forward, and we are proud they are part of the Spirit family."
The Spirit are on the road this Thursday night in Windsor before returning home to The Dow Event Center on Saturday October 3rd to face the Guelph Storm. Puck drops at 7:05 on both nights. Saturday night is Bike Night presented by The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund and Tri-City Blinds. $13 fundraiser tickets can be purchased, with $5 of each ticket being donated to The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund.
