Hitmen Launch 'Burkie's Bucket'
September 25, 2015 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club today launched an exciting new contest, Burkie's Bucket.
Over the next week, fans can submit their designs for goaltender Brendan Burke's new goalie mask at HitmenHockey.com. The contest closes Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. MT.
"I'm really excited to see what the fans come up with," said Burke. "I'm encouraging everyone to submit a design based on what they would like to see rather than what they think I would design myself."
The participant who submits the winning design concept, selected by Burke and the Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club, will receive the following prize package:
- Two (2) tickets to a 2015-16 Calgary Hitmen regular season home game.
- A meet and greet with Brendan Burke when the newly-painted mask arrives at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
- An autographed Brendan Burke goalie stick.
Burke and the Hitmen will open their Western Hockey League regular season schedule tonight in Cranbrook against the Kootenay ICE before returning to Calgary to host the ICE in the Adrenalin Source For Sports Home Opener on Saturday, Sept. 26. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome with fans encouraged to be in their seats early for a special pre-game ceremony that will include the introduction of the 2015-16 Hitmen team.
After Saturday's contest, Hitmen forward and Calgary Flames prospect Pavel Karnaukhov will be signing autographs at the Booster Club table located on the concourse by section 212.
Calgary Hitmen season tickets for the 2015-16 WHL campaign are still available.
