Introducing: Holtby's Heroes

September 24, 2015 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release

Continuing with our partnerships with Blades alumni. Another former Blade has stepped up in a big way to help give inner city kids in Saskatoon the chance to enjoy a Blades game.

Braden Holtby was stellar during his time here as a Blade. From 2005-2009, he posted team records for single season shutouts and career shutouts. He is currently is an all-star goaltender for the Washington Capitals. Holtby has generously purchased four season tickets which will be distributed per game to two kids from Saskatoon's inner city along with a chaperone.

The initiative called "Holtby's Heroes" affirms the Blades belief that everyone should be able to take part in the Blades game experience and reinforces the great relationship they already have with their alumni.

The Blades are so thankful for the way Braden Holtby has stepped up with this initiative. Braden has proven himself to not only be a tremendous goaltender during his tenure as a Blade as well as the Capitals, but he is truly a grade-A person and role model to young kids everywhere.

You will see kids sporting special edition "Holtby's Heroes" t-shirts at the games, be sure to welcome them to the rink as many of them will be enjoying their first Blades game.
