New York, NY - September 22, 2015: Two-time Olympian Kacey Bellamy has signed with the Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), general manager Haley Moore announced Tuesday.

"Kacey is one of the best defensemen in the game," said Moore, "She's tough, dynamic, and has great vision. We are confident she'll add great leadership to our strong Boston unit."

Bellamy attended the University of New Hampshire from 2005 to 2009, breaking the 100-point barrier with totals of 27 goals, 80 assists, and 107 points in 143 career games. As a freshman, the defenseman from Westfield, Massachusetts was named to the USCHO All-Rookie Team and the Hockey East RBK/CCM All-Tournament Team.

A three-time All-Hockey East honoree, she collected conference First Team honors as a senior and was also named a First Team All-American. Bellamy was also awarded UNH's Jim Urquhart Student-Athlete of the Year.

At the international level, Bellamy helped the Americans to silver medal finishes in 2010 and 2014, while winning five gold medals at the IIHF Women's World Championships.

When the Americans captured their second-straight World Championship gold medal this spring, Bellamy was named one of the top-three players of the tournament for the U.S. It was the second such honor of her career, after receiving the same accolade in 2009, when the Americans also took home gold.

Playing for the Boston Blades of the CWHL, she helped the team to titles in 2013 and 2015. This past season, she chipped in 11 points (2g, 9a) in 18 games.

"I'm excited to be a part of the NWHL and the future of this league," Bellamy said, "To think back about how far women's hockey has come in the past 20 years, it's special to think about if I have a daughter one day and the opportunities this league will bring her."

"This is an amazing opportunity to play with some of the best female hockey players," she continued, "I'm excited to be in Boston and play with some of my best friends in a city I love."
