Downs Named Sales Executive of the Year

Hickory, NC - South Atlantic League President Eric Krupa has announced the winners of the 2015 South Atlantic League Outstanding Achievement Awards, with Hickory Crawdads Assistant General Manager Charlie Downs receiving the Sales Executive of the Year Award.
Downs, 45, has now won the award twice in the past five years. The Hudson, NC native is in his 11th overall season with the 'Dads and his 8th as the Assistant GM. His duties involve partnership development, a role as a community ambassador, as well as heading up the 'Dads stadium operations, including ballpark maintenance and care.
"It truly is an honor to win this award and represent the Crawdads," said Downs. "I say it all the time, but it's a team effort here and I'm just glad to be a part of this group."
Downs will be presented with his award at the SAL Meetings in Charlotte this October. The SAL Outstanding Achievement Awards require nominees to be submitted by their respective GMs. All 14 teams in the league then vote for the winners.
"Charlie is absolutely an integral part of our team and the community," said Crawdads GM Mark Seaman. "During his 11 years here he's developed a great relationship with so many people both in the baseball world and out in the community. He could honestly win the award every year."
