Missoula PaddleHeads News Release

MISSOULA, Mont. - The Pittsburgh Pirates promoted former Osprey outfielder Keon Broxton (2009). He becomes the 56th former Osprey to reach the Major Leagues.

Broxton spent time between Double-A and Triple-A this season, racking up 10 home runs and 39 steals between both levels. Overall, he batted .273 with 27 doubles and 12 triples. The Pirates acquired Broxton from the Arizona Diamondbacks prior to the 2014 season.

For the Osprey in 2009, Broxton hit .246 with 11 home runs, 11 doubles and 37 RBI. The third-round pick also led the team in triples with nine.

Following this season Broxton would have been eligible for Minor League free agency. By calling him up, he can remain in the organization next year as an outfield depth option out of Triple-A, or an option for the fourth outfield spot in the Majors.
