Danville Dashers Goaltender Matt Anthony

Danville, IL - The Danville Dashers announced today they resigned goaltender Matt Anthony for their 2015-16, Federal Hockey League Season.
Anthony 31, returns to the Danville Dashers after having played one of his best seasons with the team last year. Last season the 5-foot-9, Ontario native recorded a 21-16-4 record in 42 games and registered a 3.57 goals-against-average (GAA) and a 0.897 save percentage.
"The entire Danville Dashers organization is happy Matt is coming back" stated Dashers Head Coach Steve Harrison. "He was a huge part of our success last year not just on ice but off, with his professionalism that he brought everyday and I know this rubbed off on players on how to do things right which just added to his great year in goal. I have no doubt matt will be that solid goalie that every team needs and the great fans we have will appreciate his talents."
Anthony started his pro career in 2008-2009 with Eindhoven Kemphanen of the Netherland Professional League playing in 121 games over three seasons. Anthony spent the next two seasons in the FHL with the 1000 Islands Privateers before heading to the Dashers the following season.
An Ontario Hockey League alumni, Anthony played three seasons with the Windsor Spitfires finishing with a 31-31-3 record while recording a career low 2.62 GAA and 0.914 save percentage in the 2002-03 season.
