Wolves Earn Road Win in Exhibition Play

The Wolves opened up their final home and home series of pre-season play with the 5-3 come-from-behind victory over the Barrie Colts on Thursday night.

The Colts opened the scoring with under a minute left to play in the first period on the powerplay.

Early in the second period, North Bay native, BEN GARAGAN was able to score his third goal in as many games for the Wolves to even the game at one. The Colts would go ahead later in the second to take a 2-1 lead going into the final period of play.

Just 25 seconds into the third period, the Colts scored another powerplay goal to take a two goal lead. However, the Wolves were able to answer just 20 seconds later thanks to MICHAEL PEZZETTA's first goal of the pre-season. The Wolves went on to score three more unanswered goals in the third period. The team was led by 1st overall pick in the OHL Priority Selection, DAVID LEVIN, who had three assists in the third period, including an assist on the game winning goal scored by JACOB HARRIS on the powerplay. CONOR CUMMINS and DMITRY SOKOLOV also added goals for the Wolves. TROY TIMPANO and MATTHEW MENNA split time in the game, with TIMPANO playing the first two periods, and MENNA closing out the game, playing the final twenty minutes of the game. The final shots were 43-30 in favour of Barrie.

The Wolves return home on Friday September 18th, to close out their home and home series with the Barrie Colts in their final exhibition tune up of the season.
