Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, AK- The Alaska Aces are pleased to announce defenseman William Wrenn has signed a contract for the upcoming ECHL season.

Head coach Rob Murray made the announcement Wednesday.

The 24 year old Wrenn, a native of Anchorage, AK and a 2009 second-round draft pick of the San Jose Sharks, rejoins the Aces after playing for the club during the 2012-13 season when he was an ECHL All-Star. He played in 51 games, scoring 5 goals with 16 assists for 21 points before being loaned to Worchester of the AHL. Wrenn also played 2 seasons and part of a third with Texas of the AHL before finishing last season with Idaho of the ECHL.

The 6', 195 pound blueliner brings great leadership qualities to Alaska, according to Murray.

"William gained valuable experience in the AHL and is a good all-around player. He'll be expected to contribute meaningful minutes in crucial situations".

Before beginning his professional career, Wrenn played with the US National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, MI, the University of Denver of the WCHA, and the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League.

Tickets are on sale now for the Alaska Aces exhibition games October 12-13 against the Missouri Mavericks at the Sullivan Arena. General admission only $15. Season ticket holders $10.

Tickets are available at the Aces office or the Sullivan Arena box office.
