(Camden, NJ - September 12, 2015) - The Bridgeport Bluefish (27-34, 53-78) were defeated by the Camden Riversharks (26-35, 54-77) 3-1 at Campbell's Field on Saturday night. Camden has now taken the first two of the three game weekend series, while Bridgeport suffered their tenth consecutive loss overall.

Bridgeport Starting Pitcher David Anderson (2-1) suffered the loss, lasting six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out four, surrendering two home runs while hitting two batters and not issuing a walk. The 22 year old rookie right hander registered his third quality start in six overall trips to the mound for the 'Fish. Camden Starting Pitcher Wes Torrez (7-8) earned the win with a quality start of his own producing seven innings of work, allowing three hits and one run, walking two and striking out five. Matt Gorgen pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his second save in as many nights and his league leading 32nd on the 2015 campaign.

Camden took the early 2-0 lead off Anderson in the home half of the first inning on a two out, two run home run to right field off the bat of Carlos Guzman that landed just over the leap of Welington Dotel. Guzman launched his ninth roundtripper of the campaign, and now has a team leading 71 runs batted in. The Riversharks made it 3-0 in their favor in the sixth on a solo home run to left field by Joel Guzman again off Anderson. Guzman is second on the club in big flies with 12 and is also number two on the team in runs driven home with 68. Bridgeport scored their lone run of the night off Torrez in the top of the seventh on an RBI double by Luis Rodriguez, plating Wilson Batista who also reached on a two base hit with one man out, and the Bluefish deficit was 3-1. Matt Wessinger stepped into the batter's box representing the tying run, but Torrez finished his night on a high note striking out Wessinger to end the threat. The duo of Rob Bryson and Gorgen came on in relief to retire all six batters they would face, and the Riversharks sent their fans home with smiles on their faces for the second straight night. Camden's bullpen has pitched four scoreless innings in the series, retiring all 12 batters they have faced with four strikeouts. Batista, Luis Rodriguez, and Welington Dotel each had one of the three hits on the night for the Bluefish. Dotel's base knock extended his hitting streak to six straight games.
