PENSACOLA, Fla. (Sept. 10, 2015) - Pensacola Ice Flyers Head Coach Rod Aldoff announced today that the team has added rookie defenseman Nathan Bruyere and forward Blake Hietala.

"Nathan is a good sized player with tremendous talent. He has the ability with his size and talent to have a great career. I look forward to seeing him in an Ice Flyer jersey," Aldoff remarked. "Blake is a very talented hockey player who is coming into his pro career after a great college career at Michigan Tech. He has shown in college he can contribute and I expect him to do that here and be a threat each and every night."

Bruyere is a native of Eagle Lake, Ontario, and joins the Ice Flyers after a two year stint at Canadian Interuniversity Sport member Lakehead University. Last season he appeared in18 games for the Thunderwolves and had six goals, seven assists, and six penalty minutes (PIM).

"I'm very excited to be coming to Pensacola for next season. I've heard nothing but great things about the organization and the city," stated Bruyere. "They've built a team with a winning culture with back-to-back championships before last season and I hope to be able to contribute on and off the ice."

Hietala, from Houghton, Mich., is coming off of a four year career at NCAA Division I Michigan Technological University. In 29 games for the Huskies last season, Hietala had five goals, 9 assists, 12 PIM, and a +2 plus/minus rating. After his time at Michigan Tech, he played in two games for the ECHL's Colorado Eagles. Hietala will also attend training camp with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings.

"I'm looking forward to my time in Pensacola," Hitala said. "I've heard nothing but great things about the city and the fan base and I'm looking forward to contributing to the team's great legacy on the ice."
