Cannons Announce 23-Man Protected Roster for 2016 Season

BOSTON, MA (September 9, 2015) - The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, today announced their 23-man protected list for the 2016 MLL season. Unprotected players automatically enter the league player pool and can be selected by any team in the December 16th Supplemental Draft.
"I am extremely excited for what the core of this team can do in the future," said Cannons General Manager Kevin Barney. "It is always a difficult process to make these tough decisions on not protecting players who have contributed to our team. With that being said, I believe these 23 players will be instrumental in bringing a championship back to Boston for 2016."
The Cannons 23-man protected list includes anchors and tri- captains Will Manny, Max Seibald and Scott Ratliff. The Cannons have also protected 2015 rookie standouts Ryan Tucker, John Glesener, and Wells Stanwick as well as returning veterans Kevin Buchanan, Jordan Burke, Mitch Belisle, and Brodie Merrill.
"We have a lot of young players in the core of our roster who are eager to continue building on the progress we made this season," Said Barney. "We know the potential we have with this roster for next season, and many seasons to come."

Important Upcoming Dates:
10 to 12 Player Expansion Protected Rosters Due:
Each of the eight teams will submit their 10 or 12 Player Protected lists from their 23 Player Rosters no later than Wednesday, October 7th, 2015
10 players if the team protects 2 goalies
12 players if the team protects 1 or less goalies
2016 MLL Expansion Draft:
MLL will host an Expansion Draft where any player not protected by a Team's 10 to 12 Player Protected Roster will be available for selection. The MLL Expansion Draft will be held Wednesday, November 18th, 2015 at 2:00PM ET via conference call. Further details about the MLL Expansion Draft will be provided at a later date.
2016 MLL Supplemental Draft:
The MLL Supplemental Draft will be held on Wednesday, December 16th, 2015 at 2:00PM ET via conference call. Further details about the MLL Supplemental Draft will be provided at a later date.
