Oshawa Fights Way to a Win

Oshawa Generals News Release
The Oshawa Generals took on a young Peterborough team and like usual it was a hard fought affair. The game was a hard-hitting and fast-paced showing the rivalry is well embedded in these two franchises.
First Period:
The first period was quiet on the scoreboard but loud on the ice. There were a lot of big hits thrown and big plays made. Cirelli and Studnicka played great at both ends of the ice. At the end of the Gens were outshooting the Petes 13-9 but had nothing to show for it.
Second Period:
The second period seems to start off with some jump from the home team, but Brodeur stood tall and made some great saves. The Gens had to continue grinding as both teams were off and on the powerplay.
Eventually, Kenny Huether would take advantage and send a water bottle jumping bullet towards the net from Smereck and Harding at the 16:53 mark. The Gens took the lead and some momentum. The Gens headed into the dressing room with a 1-0 lead.
Third Period:
Starting to push the Generals went on a 5-3. With a many chances, the Petes foiled their plans with some timely blocks and good bounces.
The Gens continued to pressure, and Anthony Cirelli sniped a shot from the slot, off a Petes turn over. The Gens was up 2-0 with ten minutes left. After some back and forth play, the rivalry was setting in and with five minutes left on the board Ian McKinnon got one by Gauthier making it a one-goal game.
The Gens held one for the rest of the game enduring everything the Petes had to throw at them and walked away with a working man like win.
Note: Brodeur started, and Gauthier came into the game ten minutes into the second.

The Gens went four for four on the Penalty Kill
