Legg Named Manager of the Year, Three Threshers on FSL All-Star Team

September 4, 2015 - Florida State League (FSL1)
Clearwater Threshers News Release

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The Florida State League All-Star Team for 2015 was announced by league President Ken Carson. Clearwater Threshers manager Greg Legg was named the FSL Manager of the Year. Three Threshers players were selected to the team: Willians Astudillo, Dylan Cozens and Andrew Pullin. The team was selected by field managers, official scorers, and club sports writers representing the 12 teams in the league.

Clearwater skipper Greg Legg led the Threshers to a 1st half north division championship and has the club in the playoffs for the first time since 2007, when Clearwater won the FSL Championship. 2015 marks Legg's 34th year with the Phillies after being drafted by the organization in 1982. He previously managed the Threshers in 2005 and 2006.

Clearwater outfielder Andrew Pullin currently leads the FSL in home runs with 14 and is fourth in total bases with 192. The left-handed hitter is batting .258 and leads the club in RBIs with 73. He was drafted by the Phillies in 2012.

Dylan Cozens was promoted to Double-A Reading on August 28. The promotion was well-deserved as the outfielder posted a .282 average with 5 home runs and 46 RBIs in Clearwater. The lefty also had 22 doubles, five triples and 18 stolen bases in 96 games as a Thresher. Cozens was 2012 Philadelphia draft pick.

Catcher Willians Astudillo is the current league-leader in batting with a .319 average. The right-handed slugger has 121 hits and only 10 strikeouts through 105 games and is the toughest hitter to strike out in all of affiliated baseball, including MLB. Astudillo's TPA/SO Ratio (total plate appearances per strikeout) is 41.20. The next closest ratio in the FSL is 12.02. Astudillo was signed by the Phillies as an amateur free agent in 2008.
