Portland Sea Dogs News Release

NEWS AND NOTES

BEGINNING OF THE END : Tonight the Sea Dogs begin their final series of the year as they host the New Britain Rock Cats (Rockies affiliate) at Hadlock Field for four games. The 'Dogs wrapped up their road schedule last night in New Hampshire with a 4-3 loss to the Fisher Cats. Portland finished the year 27-44 on the road.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT : New Hampshire scored two unearned runs in the first inning off of Justin Haley after an error by Tzu-Wei Lin and added a run in the third to take a 3-0 lead... Trailing 4-1 in the seventh, the Sea Dogs loaded the bases with nobody out against Gregory Infante, who walked Cole Sturgeon to cut the deficit to 4-2. Cory Burns entered in relief and Manuel Margot hit a sac fly to make it a one-run game, but the Sea Dogs tried to tag the other two runners and were doubled up at second base, effectively ending the threat. Blake McFarland shut the Sea Dogs down for the final two frames for his 15th save.
