Pats Fall 4-3 to Open Preseason

After the Pats and Hitmen traded goals courtesy of Lane Bensmiller (CGY) and Luc Smith (REG), the visitors jumped out to a lead at the end of the frame. Calgary got goals from Beck Malenstyn, Carson Twarynski and Jake Bean in the final 2:30 of the frame to take a 4-1 advantage to the break. The Pats calmed things down over the intermission. They held the Hitmen off the board and Adam Berg scored to cut the lead down to 4-2 heading to the third. The Queen City Kids continued chip away as Trygve Many Guns got on the score sheet with 6:11 remaining. The Pats called goaltender Jordan Hollett to the bench for the final minute, but couldn't find a tying goal as they dropped the 4-3 decision to Calgary.

Quick Hits -Trygve Many Guns led the way for the Pats with three points (1G, 2A) -Six of seven goals in the game were scored by Alberta born players -Jordan Hollett stopped all 19 shots he faced through the second and third periods
