Iowa Stumbles 8-3 at Bricktown in Series Finale

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Sept. 3, 2015) - Iowa served up two home runs and was outhit 10-8 as the Cubs (78-62) fell to the Oklahoma City Dodgers (85-55) 8-3 in Pacific Coast League action Thursday evening at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Dodgers got on the board in the first inning when Ronald Torreyes singled home Buck Britton to give OKC a quick 1-0 lead.

Oklahoma City extended its lead in the fifth with three more runs off Iowa starter Eric Jokisch. First, O'Koyea Dickson slugged a two-run home run with one out. Three batters later, Britton hit a groundball to Emilio Bonifacio who made a bad throw, allowing Ali Solis to score the Dodgers' fourth run.

Iowa scored its first run in the top of the sixth when Bonifacio knocked in Kevin Brown with a two-out single.

Oklahoma City responded in the bottom of the sixth with two more runs off Jokisch when Elliot Johnson clubbed a two-run homer.

Jokisch (5-4) exited after 6.0 innings. He allowed six runs on eight hits with five strikeouts in his final start of the season.

Chris Valaika added a run in the seventh for the I-Cubs on a sacrifice fly to drive in Mike Baxter.

Dodgers starter Zach Lee (11-6) allowed two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts to earn the win.

John Andreoli scored Iowa's third run in the top of the eighth when he scored on a wild pitch by Dodgers righty Carlos Frias.

Oklahoma City put the game out of reach in the eighth when it scored two runs off lefty James Russell.

Bonifacio led Iowa with two hits and an RBI. Taylor Teagarden went 2-for-4. Andreoli singled, walked and scored a run.

Johnson paced Oklahoma City offensively, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Dickson drove in two, while Jose Tabata singled and scored twice.

The I-Cubs will now head to suburban Austin, Texas for a four-game season-ending series with the Round Rock Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. CT at Dell Diamond. Iowa right-hander Dallas Beeler (7-5, 4.17) is scheduled to start agains Express right-hander Anthony Ranaudo (7-5, 4.34).
