Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

EDMONTON, ALTA. - Prospects Kole Gable and Will Warm have agreed to WHL Standard Player Agreements with the Edmonton Oil Kings, Oil Kings general manager Randy Hansch announced Thursday.

Gable, 17, was Edmonton's ninth round pick, 196th overall, in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. The Fort McMurray native was fourth in scoring in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League last season with 22 goals and 44 points in 34 games for the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers. The left wing finished the season playing four regular season and three playoff games for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the AJHL.

"Kole is an honest, hard-working player, and that hard work has created an opportunity for himself," Hansch said. "He has contributed offensively at each level he has played at, and we look forward to his continued development with the Oil Kings."

Warm, 16, was selected by the Oil Kings in the fifth round, 108th overall, in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The West Vancouver, B.C. native had 11 points in 39 games last season as the youngest defenceman on the NW Vancouver Giants in the B.C. Major Midget Hockey League.

"Will is a player that has consistently developed since we drafted him. He plays a very responsible game, skates well, and has the ability to get the puck up ice," Hansch said.

Both players have broken camp with the Oil Kings and are eligible to play in preseason games Saturday at 7 p.m. at Servus Place in St. Albert against the Red Deer Rebels and Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Centennial Civic Centre in Lloydminster.
