Charlottetown - The Charlottetown Islanders will kick off the 2015-16 season with an action-packed double header "Home Opening Weekend". To open the 2015-16 season the Halifax Mooseheads pay their first visit to the Eastlink Centre on Friday, September 11th, followed by the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Saturday, September 12th. Puck drop for both games is 7:00 pm at the Eastlink Centre.

Tickets for both games can be purchased starting Tuesday, September 1st, from 11:00am-5:00 pm at the Eastlink Centre Box Office, by phoning 902-629-6625 or online at eastlinkcentrepei.com.

"We are very excited to get the 2015-16 season underway", says President of Operations, Craig Foster. "Our goal is to put an exciting, competitive product on the ice and with all the pieces we have in place we feel that this is a realistic expectation. We invite all Islanders to join us as we begin what should be an exciting season".

Opening night will kick off with a special pregame ceremony featuring a live performance by Prince Edward Island's very own Paper Lions as they debut their new single "Believer". Also, Kowboy Mike Hughes and triple gold medal winner, Special Olympian Jenna Smith will be on hand to help introduce the 2015-16 Charlottetown Islanders. In addition, the Charlottetown Islanders and Eastlink will be teaming up to offer every fan in attendance the opportunity to win 3000 airmiles. The following night, against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, will be "Magnetic Calendar Night". The first 1500 fans will receive a 2015-16 Charlottetown Islanders magnetic calendar.
