Motter Named International League Postseason All-Star
September 1, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Durham Bulls News Release
DURHAM, NC - The International League announced today Durham Bulls utility player Taylor Motter was named to the league's postseason All-Star team.
The 25-year-old, who was named to the All-Star team as a utility player, leads the circuit in doubles (40), ranks second in extra-base hits (52) and fourth in slugging percentage (.450). Named an IL Midseason All-Star earlier this season, Motter has compiled eight separate hitting streaks of at least eight games in 2015, including a career-best 16-game stretch from June 3 to June 20.
In the field the product of Coastal Carolina University has been invaluable to the Bulls, starting at least five games in rightfield, centerfield, leftfield, third base, second base and shortstop. The former 17th round draft pick in 2011 has batted in all nine positions in the batting order as well.
Batting .286 with 10 home runs and 68 RBI on the season, Motter has already set a career-high in RBI, doubles, stolen bases (26) and walks (54). His selection to the IL Postseason All-Star team marks the third time in his five-year career he's earned that honor, after he was named a 2014 Southern League All-Star with Double-A Montgomery and a 2011 Appalachian League All-Star with Rookie-Level Princeton.
The Durham Bulls conclude a six-game homestand tonight at 7:05 against the Gwinnett Braves, and return to the DBAP for the season's final three games this Saturday for a series against the Norfolk Tides. Tickets for the remaining four home games of the 2015 regular season are available at durhambulls.com, the DBAP box office, or by calling 919.956.BULL.
