Osprey Cancel Post-Game Fireworks Due to Wildfires
September 1, 2015 - Pioneer League (PL)
Missoula PaddleHeads News Release
MISSOULA, Mont. - The Missoula Osprey, in conjunction with local emergency service agencies, have decided to cancel their Fireworks Show scheduled for post-game Friday, Sept. 4 due to the surrounding wildfires and Stage II fire restrictions in Western Montana.
The purpose of fire restrictions is to reduce the risk of human-caused fires during periods of unusually high fire danger.
This season, area wildland fire agencies have responded to human- caused fires in the area as well as those caused by lightning. Critical fire conditions of dry fuels, hot temperatures, low humidity, and little significant precipitation in the weather forecast continue.
The final regular-season home game is still scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4.
The Osprey open their final regular-season series tonight against the Great Falls Voyagers. The O's return home Sept. 10 for game two of the Pioneer League Playoffs Divisional series.
Tickets are available now at the MSO Hub Box Office, located at 140 North Higgins in Downtown Missoula, online at MissoulaOsprey.com and by phone (406) 543-3300.
