Toledo Takes Late Lead in 8th to Win, 2-1

TOLEDO, Oh - The Louisville Bats (63-74) fell to the Toledo Mudhens (56-81), 2-1 after giving up two runs in the bottom of the eighth.
The Bats took the lead in the top of the third with a sacrifice fly from Irving Falu to score Kyle Waldrop and held the 1-0 lead for four innings.
A late inning rally for Toledo happened in the bottom of eighth after a series of singles, sacrifice bunts, and an RBI single by Steven Moya put the Mudhens up 2-1 for the win.
Left-hander Joel Bender (1-0, 1.04) went a solid four innings, he gave up just two hits, no runs, walked one and struck out five in his start. Right-hander Donovan Hand (L, 1-6, 4.86) relieved him in the fifth inning and took the loss after a tough eighth inning. Drew Hayes with the blown save for the Bats.
Toledo's right-hander Luis Cessa (1-2, 5.56) went seven innings, gave up one run that was not earned, walked one and struck out seven Bats. Righty Josh Zeid (W, 3-3, 4.71) earned the win for the Mudhens and the save to right-hander Jeff Ferrell, his third.
Right-hander Robert Stephenson (4-2, 3.13) will get the start tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in Toledo and for the Mudhens, righty Tim Melville (6-9, 4.86) will get the start.
