Todd Glaesmann Named PCL Player of the Week
August 31, 2015 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release
RENO - Reno Aces (@Aces) center fielder Todd Glaesmann (@toddglaesmann22) has been named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week, the league announced today.
It is the fourth such award for an Aces player this season as Jamie Romak has been named Player of the Week twice, and Nick Evans was given the honor in mid-May.
In seven games from August 24-30, Glaesmann hit .586 (17-for-29) with 12 extra-base hits including 9 doubles and 3 home runs. He added 9 runs scored, 8 RBI and drew a walk. Glaesmann is the first player in the PCL in the last ten years to record nine doubles in a single week.
The 24-year-old led all of Triple-A baseball in average, hits, extra-base hits (12) and total bases (35) while he ranked among Triple-A leaders in slugging percentage (1.207, 2nd), OPS (1.807, 2nd), runs (T-2nd), on-base percentage (.600, 3rd) and RBI (T-5th).
Glaesmann went 4-for-5 yesterday to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. During the streak he's hitting .512 (21-for-41) with 11 runs scored, 8 RBI, 9 doubles, 3 home runs, 1 triple and 2 walks. He has five consecutive multi-hit games including the 4-hit game and three consecutive 3-hit games from August 26-28.
The Player of the Week award is the second such honor for Glaesmann this year. He was named California League Player of the Week on April 20 for his efforts with the Visalia Rawhide.
Only five home games remain in the 2015 season. Group outings are on-sale now at www.RenoAces.com or by calling (775) 334-4700. For up-to-date news and notes throughout the season, follow the club on Twitter (@aces) or like the team on Facebook.
