THE LEADOFF: West Virginia punched its ticket into the 2015 postseason with an 8-1 victory over the Lexington Legends on Saturday night at Appalachian Power Park. Colten Brewer was stellar with 6.2 innings of one-run ball and was backed offensively with a career-day from leadoff hitter Tito Polo who collected a career-best four hits. West Virginia got a run in the first and fourth innings then broke the game open with a four-run fifth including a pair of bases loaded walks in that game. PLAYOFF BOUND: With the victory last night, West Virginia clinched its fourth postseason berth in franchise history and its second in the history of the affiliation with the Pittsburgh Pirates. West Virginia can clinch the second half title with a victory or a loss by the BlueClaws.

RECORD WATCH: With four home games remaining, the Power passed the single-season home wins record of 44 set during the 2007 season. With nine left, the Power have 80 wins overall, putting them two shy of matching the most in any one season. The 2007 set a franchise record with 82 wins and that total was matched in 2013.

DON'T EVEN BOTH KNOCKING: After being held hitless in 11 at bats on the road, Power second baseman Kevin Kramer collected his first career hits with West Virginia in Saturday's win. Kramer went 3-for-6 with two runs and a couple driven in and fell a triple shy of the cycle.
