Prime and Freeland Lead Nuts to 5-2 Triumph

Modesto, CA. - Kyle Freeland worked a season-high 7.1 innings to help the Modesto Nuts to a 5-2 win over the Visalia Rawhide on Saturday night at John Thurman Field.

Freeland (W, 2-2) tossed 7.1 innings and worked around eight hits to allow just two runs while striking out four and walking two. Freeland stranded two runners in scoring position in the fourth and used a double play to limit the damage working against the middle of the order in the sixth.

Correlle Prime went 3-for-3 for the Nuts (66-66; 33-29) with two doubles, a RBI and a run scored. Ashley Graeter added a RBI double. Ryan McMahon and Raimel Tapia each recorded sacrifice flies.

Johnny Shuttlesworth (L, 3-3) tossed five innings and allowed just two runs on five hits in his start for the Rawhide (80-52; 38-24).

Matt Carasiti (S, 21/22) tossed a perfect ninth inning to lock down the win for the Nuts.
