Bullpen Falters in 4-3 Walkoff by Toledo

August 29, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

TOLEDO, OHIO -- Thad Weber worked eight innings for the first time since June 3 and Manny Pina hit a game-winning double in the bottom of the ninth as the Toledo Mud Hens walked off the Indianapolis Indians, 4-3, Saturday night at Fifth Third Field.

Willy Garcia tripled and scored to give the Indians a 3-2 lead in the seventh frame, but the Indians' bullpen was unable to close the door, allowing two hits and a run in each of the final two innings.

Corey Jones drove in the tying run with a roller to second base before Pina plated a leadoff double in Steven Moya for the game-winner.

Corey Hart finished 2-for-4 for the Tribe and doubled home Alen Hanson and Keon Broxton in the opening frame for the first two runs on the night.

Indianapolis starter Wilfredo Boscan worked opposite Weber's three-run gem and departed with a pair of scores over 5 2/3 effective innings. With the effort, Boscan has now held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 13 straight appearances and 12 consecutive starts.
