De La Rosa to Jacksonville; Robinson to Jupiter

KODAK, Tenn. - The Miami Marlins announced a series of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Tennessee Smokies at Smokies Stadium at 7:05 p.m.

Right-handed relief pitcher Esmerling De La Rosa has been transferred from High-A Jupiter to Jacksonville. De La Rosa made one relief appearance for the Suns on August 25, pitching two and a third innings against the Birmingham Barons where he allowed only one run on four hits with a walk and a strikeout. De La Rosa with the Hammerheads this season is 6-4 with a 2.89 ERA in 33 relief appearances.

In a corresponding move, right-handed relief pitcher C.J. Robinson has been transferred from Jacksonville to High-A Jupiter. Robinson with the Suns has no wins or losses and a 2.16 ERA in three relief appearances. Robinson with Jupiter has no wins or losses and a 2.72 ERA in 31 relief appearances and one start.

The Suns and Smokies will continue their series Saturday night from Smokies Stadium with a first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. ET. Suns will send out right-hander Scott Lyman (1-9, 6.72 ERA) while the Smokies will counter with righty Pierce Johnson (6-2, 2.22 ERA).
