Lincoln Saltdogs News Release
LINCOLN - The Saltdogs signed All-Nebraska D-II C/OF Max Ayoub, a UNK alum, and former Roncalli LHP Dylan Badura Saturday at the American Association roster-expansion deadline.
Ayoub, a three-time MIAA first teamer, hit .302 with 17 home runs and 58 RBI with a .680 slugging percentage this spring for the University of Nebraska at Kearney Lopers.
The 22-year old from Grand Island was also named captain of the Omaha World Herald's All-Nebraska Division II team. Ayoub played his freshman year at University of Nebraska at Omaha before transferring.
Badura pitched collegiately at the University of Texas-Pan American (where he went 5-9 with a 3.95 ERA in 35 games), and began 2015 with the independent Road City Warriors of the East Coast Baseball League.
The 23-year old from Omaha went to Roncalli and penned a column for the Derek Jeter-run "The Players Tribune" in May: http://www.theplayerstribune.com/dylan-badura-indy-baseball-league/
To make room on the roster, Lincoln placed RHP Marshall Schuler on the inactive list.
The Saltdogs host the Sioux Falls Canaries Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. in game three of the four-game series. Radio coverage begins at 5:35 p.m. on KFOR FM 103.3/1240 AM and streaming online at www.AmericanAssociationBaseball.TV.
